KEELER TOWNSHIP — A 23-year-old Benton Harbor man was arrested Thursday in connection to a homicide that occurred early Thursday morning in Keeler Township, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency responders were called to a residence in the Sister Lakes area around 5:15 a.m. for a report of a breaking and entering, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said they found an unresponsive 55-year-old woman upon arrival. Despite life-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Deputies said the suspect was located nearby the residence before being taken into custody.
The incident remains under investigation by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
